What To Expect

1

Day 1: Cairo – Siwa Oasis

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Cairo by private limousine, heading toward the remote and enchanting Siwa Oasis. Known as Egypt’s most isolated oasis, Siwa lies some 17 meters below sea level and is home to around 23,000 inhabitants. The journey takes you across the vast Western Desert, offering a taste of the wilderness and silence of Egypt’s golden sands.

On the way, you’ll pause at El Alamein to visit the renowned World War II Museum, a moving site that pays tribute to the soldiers who fought in the pivotal battle. After exploring the exhibits and memorials, the journey continues northward to Marsa Matrouh, a Mediterranean coastal city famous for its turquoise waters and sandy beaches. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants, sampling regional flavors and refreshing dishes.

Following lunch, the journey resumes into the desert, gradually approaching Siwa. By the afternoon, you will arrive at the oasis, surrounded by palm groves, salt lakes, and a breathtakingly peaceful atmosphere. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the evening is free to relax, soak in the quiet beauty of Siwa, and prepare for the days ahead.

Day 2: Siwa Local Attractions

After breakfast, embark on a guided exploration of Siwa’s most fascinating landmarks. Begin with Shali Old Town, the mud-brick fortress at the heart of Siwa. Though partly in ruins due to its unique construction from salt, mud, and plaster, some sections remain in use, giving visitors a glimpse of traditional Siwan architecture and lifestyle.

Next, visit the Siwa House Museum, set in a traditional home and dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the oasis. Inside, you’ll find a rich collection of artifacts, from silver jewelry and musical instruments to vibrant wedding costumes, baskets, and pottery, each reflecting the traditions of the Siwan people.

Continue your journey with a visit to the Temple of Amun (Om Obayda), dating back to the 30th Dynasty, followed by the Oracle Temple. This ancient sanctuary is famous as the place where Alexander the Great consulted the oracle, affirming his divine status as the son of Zeus and legitimizing his rule over Egypt.

From there, make your way to Cleopatra’s Spring, a natural pool where legend claims the famous queen once bathed. Relax by the refreshing water and enjoy lunch in a local café beside the spring.

In the afternoon, venture 12 kilometers southwest of Siwa to Bir Wahed, an otherworldly spot at the edge of the Great Sand Sea. Here, you’ll find a hot spring and cold spring nestled among the sand dunes—an extraordinary desert oasis. As the sun begins to set, climb atop the dunes for a breathtaking view of the golden horizon.

The evening unfolds in traditional style with a Bedouin dinner served at a desert camp, complete with local hospitality and authentic flavors. After this memorable experience, return to your hotel for overnight rest.
